Annotation: The problems of personnel training in the field of documentation and archival studies in the transition to a digital economy are considered. There is no compliance of educational programs with the requirements of employers and current trends in the economy. It characterizes the national program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation” in terms of training the transition to a digital economy. The processes of informatization in the field of documentation support of management, records management and archival science are noted as uneven. The requirements of employers to the knowledge and skills of specialists in the field of documentation and archiving are focused on the digital economy. The analysis of the qualification characteristics of the professions reflected in the single qualification directory of positions of managers, professionals and employees. It is revealed that experts in the field of documentation and archival studies, depending on their position, develop, implement, and organize the work of automated information systems and management systems. The results of the analysis of the labor functions of specialists in the field of documentation and archival studies, involving the use of information technology, reflected in professional standards are presented. The experts in the field of documentation and archival knowledge should have all necessary skills in the field of information technology, as well as the availability of labor functions in the design and operation of information systems in the professional sphere.
