AN INTEGRATIVE COURSE “CHORAL THEATRE” AS INNOVATIVE FORM OF MODERN RUSSIAN CHORAL EDUCATION

Annotation: The elaboration of federal state educational standards of higher professional education: for the specialization 53.03.05 Conducting; qualification (degree) “Bachelor” and for the specialization 53.04.04 Conducting; qualification (degree) “Master” in 2016 became an important factor which determined the development of higher professional education. These standards regulate work of higher educational institutions in training graduates and determine that institutions should elaborate and implement educational programs according to the labor market requirements. The crisis which accompanied the development of the three levels in music education has led to a decrease of the popularity of the choir conducting profession and to the quality loss in students’ training. The teachers of the institute need to save the traditions of Russian choir education based on the continuity and to renovate them focusing on searching innovative methods and on developing the educational technologies. Choral theatre is a modern development in music performance, which has an essential students’ training potential in accordance with the current requirements. The aim of this article is to reveal choral theatre abilities in saving and renovating the traditions of Russian choir education. This article deals with the stages and with work content of the Conducting and Academic singing chair of KemSIC on the above mentioned direction, which is illustrated through the artistic activity of educational performing group “Choral Theatre Academy.” The analysis demonstrates that consistent integrative approach to the training process, to developing the educational technologies and to the usage of interactive methods of education based on the continuity leads to effective results. Chair graduates are highly competitive; they use successfully the experience and knowledge they got during the educational process. The results of the chair work approve the expediency of including the integrative course “Choral Theatre” into the list of educational disciplines in choir conductors and choirmasters training.
