Annotation: The article presents the results of a pedagogical experiment on formation of civic consciousness of senior schoolchildren in modern society. The article describes the model of the formation of civic consciousness of senior schoolchildren in modern society. The article contains the following components: target, functional and informative which reflects the stages of the formation of civic consciousness, organizational forms and forms of organization of activity of subjects of a process under consideration, methods, means, and criterion- evaluation apparatus. The article presents informative component of a pedagogical model which is realized in the curriculum as well as extra curriculum activity of senior schoolchildren. There is an analysis of a curriculum of senior schoolchildren as the main source of civic knowledge acquirement. The article considers activity of senior schoolchildren on creating the educational products on civic consciousness, which are necessary to solve social problems detected by them, such activity allows senior schoolchildren to display civic knowledge, civic abilities, and civic consciousness in practice. The article presents the process and result of work with educators on preparation of moderators on the formation of civic consciousness of senior schoolchildren which precedes activity of senior schoolchildren, the article also describes work with parents of senior schoolchildren who take part in formation of their civic consciousness. The effectiveness of the experiment is confirmed by data of integrated assessment of a level of maturity of civic consciousness of senior schoolchildren in modern society.
