MUSEUM PEDAGOGY AND MUSEUM EDUCATION AT THE KSPU NAMED AFTER V.P. ASTAFYEV

Annotation: The museum pedagogy today can’t be overestimated. Its importance is confirmed by the demand for museum staff in Russia. The museum teacher is a universal profession for the museum demanding a comprehensive coverage of the problems of museology. In the article, the questions of museum pedagogy and museum education are considered on the example of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astafyev. The Department of Museology and Cultural Heritage was engaged in the training of museologists for several years but was recently reorganized. This direction of the university remains unique for the region. This research paper is aimed to present the experience of museum education in the formation of professional competencies of students. The following methods have been applied in the research: analysis of research works based on the experience of teaching museum pedagogy of students; historical genetic analysis to have a full view of activity of the department. The science publications have been analyzed to provide the reliability of the conclusions. In the study, the history of museum education and experience of Department of Museology and Cultural Heritage are presented for the first time. The author emphasizes the fact that to date there have not been done an exhaustive study. It is not involved in any archival or epistolary sources but on the basis of available publications identified the major trends of development of museological education in the Krasnoyarsk region. As a result of reorganization of the department, training the personnel for museums and museum education at the university will soon be lost. In summary, the author concludes that the museum pedagogy will continue to develop within the framework of university museums, becoming an indispensable tool for teaching, educating and adapting the students.
