THE TECHNOLOGICAL APPROACH IMPLEMENTATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUBJECT COURSE “SOCIOCULTURAL TECHNOLOGIES IN LIBRARIES”

Annotation: The importance of professional competence for a modern librarian aimed at the development their ability to implement cultural, educational and leisure activities has been presented on the basis of the related state education standards, professional standard project “Specialist in Libraries and Information Activities” and also on the basis of library work practice. The technological approach is considered to be a conceptual basis for development and implementation of the subject course “Sociocultural Technologies in Libraries.” This subject course is a part of the Bachelor’s main professional education program in Libraries and Information Activities implemented by Kemerovo State University of Culture. Intersubjective connections of the subject course “Sociocultural Technologies in Libraries” are established in the structure of the Bachelor’s main professional education program. The aim of the subject course is defined as students’ development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of using the sociocultural technologies in libraries. The interconnected components of the development of the subject course “Sociocultural Technologies in Libraries, aim, means, study subjects, process, methods, regulatory documentation, result and environment are defined and characterised based on the educational sociocultural technologies component structure suggested by professor I.S. Pilko. Technological approach application to the study course development allowed to clarify the content of the subject course “Sociocultural Technologies in Libraries” taking into consideration the relevant issues in theory and practice of library studies, experience of implementation of the similar subject courses in other universities of culture, students’ knowledge and skills which they developed earlier during other courses. The necessity of appropriate teaching aids for the course has been given. It is pointed out that technological approach in the basis of the subject course requires a thorough study of both, theoretical material which describes the technology of preparation for library events and set of practical exercises aimed at studying the sociocultural technologies which are relevant in modern librarian practice and allow the reproducibility of competence, knowledge and practical skills developed during earlier education in the activities of different libraries and information institutions.
