Annotation: With the loss of unique objects of ethnic heritage, the relevance of its research, preservation and presentation increases. Preserving the ethnic heritage should be based on tradition to avoid the formation of pseudotradition. It is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of different categories of heritage in the development of methods of their presentation. The best way to update the heritage is the museification. Methods of museification should focus on the preservation of objects of traditional culture. The possibility of recreating the objects of heritage completely lost in the living environment is connected with the use of materials from museum collections. At the museum, movable, immovable and non-material objects are preserved and updated. The category of movable objects consists of museum objects: household items, tools of production, and religious objects. Intangible objects are closely related to immovable objects: traditional technologies, economic activities, ceremonies, crafts, etc. Immovable objects of ethnic heritage are represented by residential, commercial, religious, public buildings. Ways of updating movable objects are: exhibiting based on thematic, ensemble and landscape methods of building an exposition, presentation in various forms of cultural and educational museum activities. For each category, the most effective is a specific method of building exposure. For the presentation of traditional activities and ceremonies, we use the landscape method, to reflect the life – the ensemble method; the thematic method can be applied to all categories of ethnic heritage. Actualization of intangible objects is based on the interpretation of the values of museum objects and is implemented through the methods of fixation, reconstruction, modeling, and interpretation. The actualization of immovable objects is carried out on the basis of the methods of “in situ,” soft museumification, reconstruction, translocation. The first method should be considered the most optimal, on the basis of which the Ecomuseums are created.
