Annotation: The influence of Italian music on world and Russian musical culture is substantial; A special place in this Italian dominance is played by the layer of vocal music (opera, Neapolitan songs, pop songs). The passion for Italy in our country is noticeably manifested in the field of popular music: many Italian singers and groups have a multi-million audience, there are a large number of rehashes and imitations, Italian style is consistently present in song hits and examples of Classical crossover and has the form of a serious immersion in the artistic space of Italian music. The article notes the main milestones in the history of the presence of pop music in the USSR and Russia. Since the 1930s, the passion of Russian singers (S. Lemeshev, M. Aleksandrovich, L. Utesov) for the genre of Neapolitan song was due to the attitudes of the era of “song abundance” and classically oriented cultural policy. The post-war decades with their doctrine of peaceful coexistence with the Western world are characterized by the all-Union glory of M. Del Monaco, R. Loreti, the “Soviet Robertino” S. Paramonov, and later - dozens of soloists and groups (R. Fogli, T. Cutugna, Pupo, A Celentano, "Ricchi e Poveri"). Already in the 21st century, its guide are P. Nalich, tenor ensembles, the creation of which was initiated by the worldwide success of the Tenor Trio (L. Pavarotti, P. Domingo, J. Carreras), which established the traditions of popular bel canto singing. Our country has been affected by a trend associated with the creation of stylizations of opera arias and duets aimed at demonstrating the ease of virtuoso singing and the charm of classical opera vocals (the album “Romanza” by I. Krutoy for A. Netrebko and Y. Eyvazov). Finally, the features of metamodernist post-irony appear in the New Year’s show on Russian television “Ciao, 2020” and “Ciao, 2021”. It was possible to create the atmosphere of foreign variety shows and russian “Goluboj ogonek” (“Blue Lights”) thanks to remakes of modern popular Russian songs in Italian with stylized arrangements of pop music of the second half of the 1970s-1980s. Observations of composers and performers who involve Italian songs and individual clichés of Italian pop music in their work suggest that this “touch” of Western art can add a special gloss, gives rise to the illusion of belonging to a brilliant musical tradition. The dual nature of the presence of this segment of popular music is stated: as a recognizable original phenomenon and, at the same time, a product of the global music market.
