Annotation: The article characterizes a role of project activity of library and informational institutions in the context of modern requirements. Project development is considered as an instrument of innovation management, enabling to solve a wide range of tasks for the development of perspective directions of library activities, to introduce new library information technologies, to improve services for users, and to attract new financial sources. The article analyzes Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education (FSES HE) of the Specialty “Library and Information Activity 51.03.06,” according to professional tasks in the field of project activity and requirements for necessary professional competencies, set by the standard. The article examines the project of the modernized FSES HE on this specialty in the context of the requirements for readiness of graduate students to implement project activity. The structure of employment functions of specialists in the field of library information activity, set by the relevant professional standards, is given in the article. The article highlights the experience of modelling the educational programs on the Specialty “Library Information Activity 51.03.06” in Kemerovo State University of Culture. The article contains the description of structure of educational disciplines, directed on formation of a range of professional competencies of graduate students in the field of project activity. The article points out the role of course projects and gradational projects in readiness of graduate students for independent project activity in the context of library information activity.
