- THE PROBLEM OF THE PREVENTION OF STUDENT EXTREMISM IN THE CONTEXT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL RESEARCH The socio-pedagogical significance of the prevention of youth extremism, necessity to implement a scientific problem and lack of scientifically based technologies in the theory, methodology and organization of socio-cultural activities devoted to prevention of youth extremism, led to the expediency of choosing the topic of research. The article attempts to analyze scientific literature revealing the state of development of concepts “extremism,” and “youth extremism.” The stated areas of scientific interest in the phenomenon of extremism for researchers in various scientific areas: legal, sociological, psychological, pedagogical, etc. The essence of the concept is clarified from the standpoint of socio-cultural activity, which in the study is presented as a destructive phenomenon, accepted as socially dangerous illegal activity that violates the laws of democracy, rights and freedoms of an individual and a citizen. Attention was paid to the research in the field of the problem of youth extremism, as well as to the work of methodologists and practitioners in the sphere of leisure activities. A diverse analysis, involving the political, sociological, legal and other contexts, made it possible to clarify the essence of the concept of “extremism,” it revealed a significant discrepancy in its semantic load from adherence to extreme views and violent steps, unlawful actions to socially active positively diverting socially acceptable behavior. From the standpoint of socio-cultural activities, the concept of “extremism” was defined as a destructive phenomenon, which is a socially dangerous illegal activity that violates the laws of democracy, rights and freedoms of an individual and a citizen, as well as a wide range of social deviations, tolerance and approval of socially dangerous behavior. Factors provoking the young people to manifestations of extremism were revealed as certain socio-economic conditions in which a young man turns out to addictive behavior that provokes the desire to escape from reality by changing his mental state provoked by the use of various psychoactive substances, etc. Prevention of youth extremism from the standpoint of our research was defined as a complex system of pedagogical influence carried out in conditions of leisure, based on the combination and interaction of all aspects of the social pedagogical process, content, methods and forms of its organization, etc.
